Kocktails with Karly: The Blackberry Moscow Mule 

It’s almost summer, bitches. Time to bust out the berries!

A Moscow Mule, as you know, is a beloved staple in our home. We always have ginger beer, vodka, and limes just in case we feel so inclined to make a delicious mule, and recently I’ve started buying more scrumptious BERRIES. 

I made a raspberry Moscow Mule early this week because it was too warm for an Old Fashioned and I wanted something sweet but not tooooooo sweet, AND I needed to use the sadly, very disappointing raspberries I had just bought. 

After my first few sips I thought, “How lame is this,” because I couldn’t get a sense of the raspberries. However, after a few more sips my disappointment turned into, “YASSS!!! COME THROUGH RASPBERRIES, COME THEOUGH GIRL!” So. Good.

My husband is home!!!!, so I took advantage of our time together during his day off on Monday and made us each a Blackberry Moscow Mule (the raspberries I had left had seen better days). My friends… It was special. 



  • 2oz vodka 
  • 1-2oz lime juice 
  • Mint leaves 
  • 8-10 muddled blackberries
  • 1 bar spoon (tsp) simple syrup 
  • 4-6oz ginger beer 


  • Muddle blackberries in glass with lime juice and simple syrup (you can also muddle the mint at this time if you desire or add later)
  • Add vodka and ginger beer
  • Garnish with lime and mint

Look at it. So majestic in its blackberry glory! MOSCOW MULE, YOU DA REAL MVP OF THIS WEEK! 

Thank you, blackberries. I didn’t think the Moscow Mule could really get any better, but you and your raspberry friends have proven the contrary!
